the 4th

'We didn't do a real good job of being patriotic this Independence day - we didn't grill anything, we didn't wear red, white, or blue (this is mainly do to the fact that we only have about 6 shirts between the two of us here in provo), we didn't shoot off any fireworks, or listen to Neil Diamond. But we did go see some pretty awesome hot air balloons.
[tangent] The day Rich proposed to me he told me not to plan anything because he had plans. I was convinced that we were going to go up in a hot air balloon, instead he drug me up a mountain and gave me a ring. I wasn't too disappointed that he didn't read my mind, but I'm still waiting for my hot air balloon ride.

More inportantly the fourth was the start of the tour de france. Talk about exciting. I feel like because every year we watch practically the same guys race for about a month it's almost like a family reunion. Yeah the sport of cycling has a bad rep when it comes to doping, but we're holding our breath that this year we won't be let down.
