geneacation

gene⋅a⋅ca⋅tion (jee-nee-uh-key-shuhn) - n. A period of time devoted to pleasure, grave hunting, talking to relatives you never knew existed, and relaxation.

This was our 2nd annual my side of the family vacation. My sister, Angela, does most of the planning and is really big into genealogy so we decided to go to Ohio this year. Both of my mom's parents are from Ohio and since we haven't visted since I was 7 it was about time to get back. It turned out to be a great trip. Rich and I were both a little hesitent seeing as I didn't know this side of the family that well and there really isn't much in that part of Ohio to do. But as it turns my family is really quite welcoming and fun and there was plenty to do. Angela probably could have stayed there another week running around all of Ohio and Indiana looking for Joseph Magers death record.
This is Rich not working. We were also able to get a five generation picture with my Great Grandma Ainsworth, Jonas' great great grandma.

Between visiting with family, antique shopping ( I really wish I would have had a bigger suitcase), swimming (I think that's why people live there, everyone has a lake size pond in their yard) hanging out with the Amish, and not being much help to Angela, we really had a good geneacation.
